Drawing London
Beginnings
Founding of the group January - April 2003
The Drawing London Group began in May 2003 after a course at the Prince's Drawing School, "Drawing the City", run by Martin Shortis, and attended by Bill Aldridge, Shelby Dawbarn, Ivor Kamlish and Marion Wilcocks, who became the founding members. Martin joined our first few meetings and was a big help to us all. Over the years since then, new friends have joined and the group has grown in numbers and in stature, and we exhibit together with considerable success. From the beginning, Bill Aldridge has shouldered his role as central coordinator and organiser of this gentle, democratic and freewheeling group, and our monthly get-togethers are both productive and very enjoyable
